#01: Divergent

Show Notes

Welcome to the brand spankin' new podcast and book club, SisterLit, in which we discuss fiction and our latest family quirks. We introduce several titles of interest, discuss one at length, and weave our unique perspectives and wit into each commentary.

In this episode, we delve into the novel Divergent, the first in a trilogy by Veronica Roth. We also assign a faction for each one of our family members without their input in the matter. We rant our opinions about reading novels before movies like eating cookie dough before the cookie.

We talk about the beginnings of reading for each one of us, starting indelibly with our parents commitment to Value Tales, like this one with the guy who we thought discovered penicillin.

Above all, we challenge you to read and to take this adventure with us. We warmly thank you each for listening. Please leave us comments about anything we have discussed or with suggestions on what you would like to hear!

Below are a list of the books we talked about:

  1. You gals are awesome! You definitely "lit" up my night as I listened to your podcast. We're giving Lydia a kindle for her birthday so maybe she can join into your family book club...then she won't need to "buy" Nancy Drew mysteries on Jillian's kindle! I had to laugh at your family classification exercise. I once did that with my family using Star Trek personalities! Have fun!

    1. Thanks Diane! It would be so great to have Lydia in our Book Club! Star Trek personalities would be fun to do, I feel like Tim would be Geordi LaForge, he's got some serious science skills! Thanks for Listening!
